The Community Development Financial Institutions Fund announced it has awarded 56 organizations $8.8 million in technical assistance awards under the fiscal 2025 funding round.
New Awards: The awards were made using funds appropriated by Congress in fiscal 2024 that would have expired yesterday. The CDFI Fund said the awards reflect the Treasury Department’s commitment to ensuring taxpayer dollars are used effectively and advancing economic opportunity in communities that need it most.
Amended Notice of Funds Availability: The CDFI Fund recently issued an amended notice of funds availability inviting applications for financial or technical assistance awards. The notice removes “climate-focused financing” in the list of eligible activities and removes definitions of "eligible markets" related to race or ethnicity, requiring CDFI grant applicants to amend their applications if they include these references.
Deadline: Applicants that are notified by the CDFI Fund that they may update their previous applications under the NOFA must submit updated information by 11:59 p.m. (Eastern time) Monday, Oct. 27.
