With the federal banking agencies hosting a virtual outreach meeting this week under their latest Economic Growth and Regulatory Paperwork Reduction Act review, ICBA is hosting a briefing at 1 p.m. (Eastern time) today for bankers delivering oral comments.
ICBA Briefing: Today’s ICBA briefing will cover the issues and policies participants could discuss during the outreach meeting, topic-specific questions, and advice on making oral comments impactful. ICBA also recently published a guide to help community bankers participate in the process.
Outreach Meeting: During this week’s outreach meeting, scheduled for Wednesday, participating bankers will discuss how regulatory burdens adversely affect their banks and customers.
Background: EGRPRA requires the federal banking agencies to review their regulations every 10 years to identify outdated, unnecessary, or unduly burdensome regulations, giving community bankers an opportunity to articulate their concerns.
ICBA Input: In a national news release in July, ICBA commended regulators for heeding ICBA’s calls to hold a livestreamed public meeting as part of the current EGRPRA review.
